Cookie scanner and cookie acceptance

All websites that use cookies (other than 'necessary cookies') are required to disclose this and obtain consent from the visitor to use these cookies.

(The exact rules regarding disclosure, cookie banner design and opt-in/opt-out options will not be discussed here. This article will also not discuss the technology and purpose of cookies)

In ideal.shop there is a standard solution to comply with these rules. This solution is activated automatically (when your subscription is activated) and consists of the following.

Cookie scanner

This is a robot that visits your website weekly and tries to find out which cookies are in use. The information is stored so that it can be displayed on your cookie page and in the cookie banner in accordance with applicable rules.

You can see when the cookie scanner last looked at your website and which cookies it found under "Settings > Website/webshop > Cookies".

On the same page you can add information about the cookies found. The system will automatically try to classify as many cookies as possible, but you may need to provide information yourself. This can happen, for example, if you use a plugin/integration from a provider of pop-ups, chat, tracking or other services that the system did not already know about.

Cookie banners

By default, a complete and comprehensive cookie banner is displayed on your website. This means that first-time visitors to your website have to decide whether they want to accept different types of cookies. At the same time, they can browse a list of the cookies they need to accept (from the scanner). Note that only the banner type "Centred and blocking" meets all requirements

The cookie page

By default, your website will have a cookie page that you can find in the bottom menu (and in the administration under "Pages"). This page also contains a list of the cookies your website uses + other required information.

If you have edited or deleted your own text, or if you are unsure if you have an updated version, you can copy the content below to your cookie page. Note that it must be pasted into the editor via HTML mode.

<h2>The website's use of cookies</h2>
Cookies are necessary for the website to function. Cookies also help us to get an overview of your visit to the website so that we can continuously optimise and target the website to your needs and interests. For example, cookies remember what you have put in your shopping basket, whether you have previously visited the site, whether you are logged in and what language and currency you would like the website to be in. We also use cookies to optimise the website for sales.

<br>
<h2>Reject or delete your cookies</h2>
You can always reject cookies on your computer, tablet or phone by changing the settings in your browser. Where you find the settings depends on which browser you use. Cookies that you have previously accepted can be easily deleted afterwards. If you use a PC with a newer browser, you can delete your cookies by using the shortcut keys: CTRL + SHIFT + Delete. If this method does not work, follow the instructions for the browser you are using.
