Link regular products and subscription products

If you sell products on subscription, it can be beneficial to link them to the corresponding regular product.

This way an option is shown on your product page where the customer can choose between buying the product as a one-off purchase or as a subscription.

At the same time, it also means that the two linked products will have synchronised stock quantities (if you use inventory management).

You need to make two changes to achieve this.

1. Allow products to have the same product number

Regular products and subscription products must be linked through their product number. Both must therefore have the same product number.

To allow this, go to Products » [gear] » Stock.

There you must find the setting "Link products together based on product number" and set it to "Yes".

Now you must ensure that the same product number is saved on the regular product and the subscription product.

2. Enable link between products

Go to Subscriptions » [gear].

There you should activate the settings that show links between regular products and subscription products and/or vice versa.
