Get started with subscription sales + frequently asked questions

To sell goods or services by subscription to your customers, simply:

1. Check that your payment method supports subscription payments. Most payment gateways support this, but it must be activated in both the gateway and with the acquirer.

2. Activate the subscription tool in the administration. This is done by searching for "subscription". When the tool is activated, you will see a new menu item in the left-hand menu called "Subscriptions".

3. Create a new product, and remember to set it to be a subscription product. After the product is created, edit the product and look under the "Subscription" menu item. There you should check that all settings are as you want them.

Which payment types can be used?

At the moment (31 July 2024) the following payment types can be used to accept subscription sales.

• Payment cards (Visa, Mastercard, Dankort)
• Google Pay (only through Quickpay)

MobilePay/Vipps and Apple Pay are not supported for subscription sales at the moment, but may be supported in the future.

Where do I write my subscription terms?

When you activate the subscription tool in the administration, a subpage will automatically be added to your pages titled "Subscription terms".

If you want to make changes to your subscription terms, this can be done by editing that page.

The subscription terms must be accepted by your customers when they complete an order. An extra checkbox will automatically be shown in the cart where the customer can read the subscription terms and accept them (the customer must therefore tick BOTH the box for the standard terms and the subscription terms).

If you want to merge your terms of sale and your subscription terms into a single text, this can be done by going to "Subscriptions" in the administration and clicking the cog at the top right.
