Automatic item addition (for example free gift)

With this tool you can ensure that one or more items are added to your customers' basket, depending on how much they spend.

The tool can be found under "Settings » Discounts, offers, gifts » Automatic item addition". You can also find it by searching for "gift" in the main search field.

Example - how to create your free gift

1. Create the item you want to give as a gift
2. Search for "visibility" and activate the tool
3. Ensure that your gift item has visibility = indirect
4. Go to "Settings » Discounts, offers, gifts » Automatic item addition" and create the gift

Multiple different item additions on the same order

It is possible to create several different item additions, depending on the order amount.

For example, you can give a small gift for order amounts over 200 kr, and a larger gift if the order amount exceeds 1000 kr.

By default, multiple gifts will be added at the same time. If you want to limit each order to one gift, you can set this by clicking the cogwheel at the top right of the admin area.

Tell your visitors about the automatic item/gift

When you create an automatic item addition, it is not automatically highlighted anywhere on your website (except in the basket, when the item is added).

If you use this option as an upsell campaign, you should inform your visitors about it.

You could, for example, inform them about it on your front page, at the top of your design, or via a popup.

If the customer does not want the automatic item

The customer can always remove the automatic item from their basket. If they do so, the item will NOT be added automatically again. The opt-out will therefore be remembered for a period of time.

Later (for example after a few hours, the next day, or when the customer starts a new session) the automatic item will be added again when the customer adds something to the basket.
