VAT, VAT rates and VAT selector/VAT display when selling abroad

When you sell abroad, it is important to have VAT under control.

The webshop will automatically apply the correct VAT, which follows these rules:

(the following examples are based on Denmark as the country of dispatch)

Sales from Denmark to Denmark (businesses and consumers): 25% VAT
Sales from Denmark to the EU (consumers): 25% VAT
Sales from Denmark to the EU (businesses): 0% VAT
Sales from Denmark to outside the EU (consumers): 0% VAT

It is always the delivery address that determines which country is "sold to". A private individual who lives in China and buys an item with delivery to an address in Denmark or Germany will be charged 25% VAT.

All sales carried out with the shipping type "Pick-up" will use the webshop's country as the country of delivery.

Provide VAT information if you sell abroad

It is recommended to display a clear VAT indication when there is a chance that some sales in your webshop will occur without VAT.

VAT information/display can be enabled in the following locations.

- Settings » Website/webshop » VAT
- Appearance » Cart
