Ensures correct entry of company name and CVR in the basket

If your cart contains a field to enter company name (it does by default), you may find that private customers mistakenly enter something in the field.

This can cause problems if you sell to countries in the EU, as the VAT rate depends on whether you are selling to private customers or businesses.

To ensure that the customer enters correct data in the cart, you can follow one or more of these recommendations.

All settings are found in the admin by going to "Appearance » Cart".

1. Add the "Private/Business checkbox" field
This is the recommended way to ensure correct private/business customer selection. When this checkbox has been added, the "Company" and/or "CVR" fields will be hidden initially. If the customer ticks this new field, the "Company" and/or "CVR" fields will be shown, and will be required to fill in.

See a video example and more recommendations for this method at the bottom of the page.

2. Add a field for CVR
If your cart has BOTH a field for company name and a field for CVR, your webshop will only consider the customer a business customer if both fields are filled in.

3. Use only the CVR field
A private customer is less likely to enter something incorrect in a CVR field than in a company name field.

4. Rename your fields
Instead of the field being called "Company name" you can rename it to "Company name (TO BE FILLED IN BY BUSINESSES ONLY)".
