Google Search Console warns about issues on my online shop
If you have created an account with Google Search Console, it is unfortunately very likely that you will start receiving warnings about "issues" on your online shop.
It's important to note that there is a big difference between ERRORS and PROBLEMS/ WARNINGS. And it is most likely only PROBLEMS/ WARNINGS that you will be alerted to.
This means that there are no errors on your website/web shop and it will still be indexed in Google's search engine as it should be. In fact, you can safely ignore messages like the one below! (but read on in case you can optimise something)
But what does the warning mean?
Google is interested in getting as much information about your products as possible. The more data, the better Google can determine where, when and how an item should appear in their search results.
Therefore, Google is keen on information such as unique IDs (SKU and GTIN) and customer review information.
If you have this information (SKU and/or GTIN), you can enter it on your products. It is also possible to enable the collection of customer reviews. However, this is not a requirement!
GTIN/SKU: Search in the super finder for sku or gtin and activate the fields. You can then enter the information by editing the item.
Brand
This "non-critical issue" is because you haven't set a brand on your items. If you want to add a brand/tag to your items, you can do so in the administration by:
1. Search for "brand" and activate the tool
2. Go to your item in the administration and fill in the "Brand" field at the bottom of the page (where you edit your item)
aggregateRating and review
This "non-critical issue" is because you don't have a customer review for your item. If you want to add the ability to write reviews for your items, you can do so in the administration by:
1. Search for "reviews" and activate the tool
2. Tap "Items" in the left menu and then tap the cogwheel to activate reviews for all items
