Lazy loading - advanced speed optimisation

Lazy loading is a method used in online shops and websites to optimise loading speed and save on network traffic in general.

In Danish it translates to "lazy loading".

When lazy loading is enabled, it means that selected content on a page is loaded in a staggered manner. Typically, content (that is not at the top of the page) is only loaded when you scroll down the page. This saves network traffic on the first view - i.e. when you first open the page.

The elements further down the page are not important in the first second, as they are outside the field of view. Only when the elements are to be displayed on the screen, resources are used to load them.

The same applies to images that are in a "horizontal scroll list". If the images are not immediately visible on the screen, the system does not use resources to retrieve them via the web. Only when you scroll through such a list will the images be loaded.

Lazy load is automatically enabled

If you have a website or webshop with ideal.shop, this method is already used on your sections.

This means that your sections use lazy loading on elements (images, videos, etc.). It is also possible to "lazy load" sections completely (HTML), thus saving some extra resources. Note, however, that this can affect SEO, as the robots may not see sections that are set to delay the loading of HTML.

If you want to fine-tune this, you can find the lazy load setting by searching for "lazy" and activating the tool. The setting can then be found at the bottom of the "Advanced" section in each section.
